Noncom CPs changing hands

There has been a general station lull following the end of the heavy-lifting in the wake of the 1996 Telecom Act. But one category has moved along steadily – FM CPs on the low end of the FM dial known as the reserved band. In Nassau-Suffolk, Calvary Chapel of Hope is in one such deal, getting the CP for WRMR-FM Lindenhurst NY from JCM Radio of New York for a modest $57.5K. The station is earmarked for Class A status on 89.3 MHz. The price is even more modest in Wilkes Barre-Scranton – in fact, the transfer of WFTE-FM CP Mount Cobb PA is a simple cash-free transfer from one non-profit to another.
