Retailer seek tax parity with etailers

US CongressLocal merchants and their advocates want the US House or Representatives to pass the Marketplace Fairness Act, which would bring etailers in line with local businesses by requiring them to charge a sales tax to their customers too.


One group, the Alliance for Main Street Fairness, is bringing the specter of Chinese online retailer Alibaba into play, noting that the internet giant will bring real harm to their local businesses.
