R&S PRISMON, the software-based monitoring and multi-viewer solution from Munich-based Rohde & Schwarz, has passed all Dolby Laboratories certification tests.
It’s a big win for R&S, as Dolby is a leading manufacturer of audio codecs.
R&S PRISMON enables broadcasters and streaming service providers to monitor a wide variety of media formats with resolutions up to UHD/4K.
Dolby Laboratories comprehensively and successfully tested the device in giving its approval, noting that the system accurately decodes Dolby Digital Plus and Dolby E codecs.
R&S PRISMON was evaluated for support of all defined audio channel configurations up to 7.1; web browser user interface; input via ASI transport stream and SDI; and display of Dolby metadata.
Dolby E is a digital audio encoding and decoding technology. It is used by broadcasters and in post production to transfer and store audio material.
Dolby Digital Plus is a multichannel audio system. It was specifically designed for high-definition television (HDTV), HD DVD and Blu-ray Disc, and for encoding multichannel media for streaming, on-demand and download services.
