Dean Spanos thought a move from San Diego to Los Angeles was a great idea for his National Football League franchise, the Chargers.

Salem Media Group believes it’s a great idea for one of its L.A. executives to pack up and head south to America’s Finest City.

Steve Brodsky, presently the GSM of Salem’s longtime Christian Talk & Teaching KKLA-FM 99.5 in Los Angeles, has been promoted to the role of GM for Salem’s two San Diego AMs: Christian Talk & Teaching KPRZ-AM 1210 “K-Praise” and conservative Talk KCBQ-AM 1170 “The Answer.”

Brodsky has been with KKLA since early 2015. He joined Salem after more than a decade with The Walt Disney Co., managing “Radio Disney” O&Os in such markets as Atlanta, Minneapolis and Dallas.

Terry Fahy, Salem’s Operations Vice President for the Southwest region, said, “We have been impressed with Steve’s ability to quickly assimilate into the Salem culture and lead the sales department in growing spot sales, digital marketing, as well as event sponsorships. We are excited to have him bring his sales and management leadership to San Diego.”
