Satcasters extend merger deadline

XM Satellite Radio and Sirius Satellite Radio jointly announced that both companies have agreed not to exercise their right to terminate their long-pending merger prior to May 15th. Rather than set a new date, the companies agreed to further extend their merger agreement, “as necessary, for rolling two week periods unless either side notifies the other of its intention not to extend.” XM and Sirius got DOJ approval to merge, but are still waiting for a decision from the FCC.
