Sillerman resort seized by lenders

The Wall Street Journal reported that lenders holding a $180 million mortgage on a luxury resort project in the Caribbean island of Anguilla have taken over the half-built project and put a receiver in place to manage it. The project, called Temenos, was previously spearheaded by media mogul Bob Sillerman, who the WSJ said had invested another $180 million of his own cash into it.

The resort project is separate from Sillerman’s publicly traded CKX Inc., which owns 19 Entertainment, owner of “American Idol” and “So You think You Can Dance,” plus the majority of Elvis Presley Enterprises and the rights to market the name and image of Muhammad Ali.

Another Sillerman real estate project in Las Vegas went into receivership last year.
