Dial Global announced Michael Smerconish’s Philadelphia flagship, CBS Radio’s The Big Talker WPHT, will move him from mornings to afternoons. So Michael will cease production of his national morning show in order to focus on his Noon-3pm ET program, beginning 1/1.

“Michael is the cornerstone of our station. We are pleased that he has chosen to keep WPHT as his flagship,” commented Marc Rayfield, SVP and GM of CBS Radio, Philadelphia.

Chris Stigall has been tapped for mornings at The Big Talker, joining from KCMO Talk Radio 710 in Kansas City where he has hosted morning drive since 2006.  From 5:30-9:00AM Stigall will discuss local and national policy, the economy, the biggest news stories and issues that affect all Philadelphians, coupled with interviews of the day’s news and decision makers.

“Michael is currently producing seven hours of live radio every day which is a Herculean task,” says Amy Bolton, Sr. VP/GM News & Talk Dial Global.  “With the vast number of his affiliates airing the midday version of the program, it’s natural he should focus all his energy there.”

Smerconish is also heard on major market stations including WOR-AM, KFWB-AM, and WXNT, among others.
