SoundHound, which offers fast music recognition, the exclusive ability to identify a tune sung or hummed and LiveLyrics, which shows lyrics in-sync with the music playing over the air, announced a new feature that enables iTunes Radio to be launched directly from the SoundHound App on iPad, iPhone and iPod touch. The feature is now live and available to SoundHound users in the US.
SoundHound captures and identifies song and artist info, instantly seeing lyrics and videos, and lets users share their experiences with friends.
For example, when a SoundHound user on iPad, iPhone or iPod touch identifies and discovers a song, they will see the iTunes Radio icon on the results page. When tapped, an iTunes Radio station will launch based on that artist. iTunes Radio stations will also be featured on the SoundHound home page carousel with the “Holiday Classics” station showcased in time for the holiday season.
In addition to sharing music finds through sites like Facebook and Twitter, BlackBerry 10 customers can also share through BlackBerry Messenger. Tracks can be purchased directly from Amazon’s Music Store.
“With the addition of support for iTunes Radio, SoundHound fans will be delighted to discover that they can now launch an iTunes Radio station seamlessly when they discover new music through SoundHound,” said Katie McMahon, Vice President, Sales and Marketing for SoundHound. “We are constantly striving to excite our users with new features that enhance the mobile music experience.”
The SoundHound App is now available for free from the App Store on iPad, iPhone and iPod touch, or at AppStore.com/SoundHound.
