Streaming music service Spotify has hired Wall Street veteran Paul Vogel as head of investor relations – the first person to hold that position at the company.
Experts see that as a sign Spotify intends to go public. The company says it has 30 million paid subscribers
Vogel most recently ran the Internet and Media Research Group at Barclays. He started his career in 1995 at Morgan Stanley.
Vogel reports to Spotify CFO Barry McCarthy, who came from Netflix in that same role a year ago.
