Magic 102.1Cox Media Group (CMG) Athens/Gainesville/Greater Atlanta has named Steve Anthony from CMG Jacksonville to replace Allen Tibbetts, who recently retired as the Magic 102.1 (WGMG) Morning Show host, effectively immediately.  Anthony, who previously was on air with CMG’s WJGL The Eagle and 95.1 WAPE in Jacksonville, joins Magic Morning Show co-host Beth Larsen.

“We are all sad to see Allen leave and we greatly appreciate everything that  he has done for Athens, CMG and Magic 102.1 over the years, but I am absolutely thrilled to have a talent like Steve join the Magic Morning show,” said Magic 102.1 Program Director Jerry Arnold.  “He is an excellent storyteller, a fantastic radio personality, and he brings an infectious positive attitude with him wherever he goes.”

“I’m extremely excited to be joining the CMG team in Athens,” said Anthony. “From my first conversation with Jerry to my first time walking through the facility, I knew this was a group that was passionate about bringing something special to the listeners, with a focus on fun, local radio. I can’t wait to get there, explore the amazing culture of Athens and take in a few Dawgs games!”
