Stocks closed higher on Thursday, shaking off early losses that came amid downbeat reports from the Philly Fed, China and Europe. Traders found encouragement in a U.S. manufacturing gauge, Markit’s flash purchasing manager’s index, jumping to its highest level in almost four years. The Dow gained 92.67 points, or 0.6%, to 16,133.23.
The RBR Radio Index was up 11.494, or 1.3%, to 927.144.
The TVBR Television Index was up 25.446, or 3.2%, to 815.376.
