Stocks end slightly higher; Dow sets record close

Stocks ended a choppy session with small gains Friday as the Dow Industrial Average pushed to a record close. Meanwhile, the Nasdaq still posted its biggest weekly drop in four weeks after investors dumped technology and small-cap shares. The Dow rose 32.37 points, or 0.2%, to close at 16,583.34, eclipsing the previous record of 16,580.84 set on 4/30. The S&P rose 2.85 points, or 0.2%, to 1,878.48, leaving the index with a 0.1% weekly decline. The Nasdaq gained 20.37 points, or 0.5%, to 4,071.87, trimming its weekly loss to 1.3%.


The RBR Radio Index was down 2.598, or .3%, to 900.175.

The TVBR Television Index was up 3.417, or .4%, to 806.065.
