A Sky-High Finish For Saga

U.S. stocks saw overall gains on Thursday as the Dow Jones Industrials Average improved 59.71, to 19,852.24. The Nasdaq composite index was up 20.18, to 5,456.85.


Leading the way among media stocks was Saga Communications, which has emerged as one of the strongest radio industry performers in the second half of 2016. Saga stock jumped 2.5%, to $49.95 a share – a level not seen since March 2014. Netflix was up 1.3%, to $125 a share, while Tribune Media jumped 2.2%, to $34.76.

Among the decliners were Cumulus Media, off 3.4%, to $1.15, and iHeartMedia, down 5 cents to $1.30.

 

The RBR Radio Index fell 6.328, or 1.01%, to 617.711.
The TVBR Television Index rose 1.275, or 0.13%, to 968.847.
