Univision Communications Inc. announced that its historic special “Unidos Por Haití” (United for Haiti) drew overwhelming support from the Hispanic community last Saturday, and that to date, the Company’s cross-platform campaign, which began with public service announcements (PSAs), has raised $6.3 million in donations to the American Red Cross; a third of which have been received via Univision.com’s dedicated web site, www.univisionhaiti.com.

Univision estimates that the live five-hour commercial-free special edition of “Sábado Gigante” reached nearly 8 million viewers who watched some or all the broadcast. The program featured performances by 19 of the world’s top Latin music artists who came together in a moving show of support to join Don Francisco and personalities from Univision, TeleFutura, Galavisión and Univision Radio to encourage viewers to donate to this humanitarian cause.

In an unprecedented Company effort leveraging all its media platforms, the “Unidos por Haití” special was simulcast on the Galavisión Network and on AM radio stations across Radio Cadena Univision, and streamed live at www.univisionhaiti.com. Coverage of the special drove a daily record on Univision.com, as concerned users logged on for the latest updates, generating 1 million global unique cookies on Saturday. The special was also broadcast in 10 countries across Latin America and the network provided English subtitles via CC3 where available.

The extensive, multi-platform effort across Univision Communications Inc. is still ongoing on television, radio and Univision.com. Some of Univision and TeleFutura’s most popular programs, including “Despierta América” (Wake Up America), “El Gordo y La Flaca” (The Scoop and the Skinny), “Primer Impacto” (First Impact), “Noticiero Univision” (Univision Network News) and “Escándalo TV” (Showbiz TV) continue to guide viewers on how they can help by providing information from the American Red Cross and ways to donate, including the dedicated Spanish-language toll-free phone number (1-800-842-2200) and web site www.univisionhaiti.com.
