Audio streaming platform TuneIn is widening its array of sports choices thanks to a newly expanded agreement with broadcast technology partner Skyview Networks.

Skyview, which has engineered the process of preparing audio for digital readiness for TuneIn, will now process nearly 50 additional collegiate athletics streams and 24/7 simulcasts of such pay TV networks as NBA TV, NFL Network, MSNBC, and CNBC; the latter two networks serve as spillover networks for NBC Sports Network.

Skyview’s digital audio process also provides the ability for TuneIn to sell and insert advertising within the stream.

“Skyview Networks’ technology has been instrumental in delivering and monetizing high-quality audio streams of our content to users for more than two years,” said Andrew Bock, TuneIn’s Director of Content Operations.

Skyview is a longtime broadcast technology player in the play-by-play radio segment.

“It is a very exciting time for Skyview to continue expansion into the arena of digital media and we see the importance of providing digital technology solutions to our client service package,” said Ken Thiele, the company’s president. “The digital media segment continues to gain momentum among advertisers and listeners. TuneIn leads in quality content and its social user experience.”

TuneIn boasts more than 100,000 streaming radio stations and 5.7 million on-demand programs.
