Tupelo TV CP sold

Christian Television Corporation, which operates numerous full- and low-power television stations, is getting a DIY television project in Tupelo MS set to operate on Channel 49. It’s getting them from another group with TV-license portfolio, New Age Media.


The station, which as yet has not received call letters, is coming for $650K cash. According to the contract, brokerage Hadden & Associates represented the seller and is holding a $65K escrow deposit. CTC will have a few months shy of one year to get the station built. The CP is set to expire 3/25/11.

The seller, listed on the contract as New Age Media of Pennsylvania License LLC, is headed by John Parente. Six CBC execs are listed on the application, including Robert D’Andreas, Robert D’Andreas Jr., Virginia Oliver, Jimmy Smith, Wayne Wetzel and Robert S. Young.

Corporations related to CTC hold the following full-power stations: WHBR-TV, Pensacola FL, WHTN-TV, Murfreesboro TN, WFGC-TV, Palm Beach FL, WRXY-TV, Tice FL, WVLR-TV, Tazewell TN, WGNM-TV, Macon GA, KFXB-TV, Dubuque IA, WTJR-TV, Quincy IL and KNLJ-TV, Jefferson City IL.

New Age also has both full- and low power stations. The roster of full powers includes WPXT-TV Chattanooga TN, WTLH-TV Bainbridge GA, WGFL-TV High Springs FL, WOLF-TV Hazleton PA and WQMY-TV Williamsport PA.
