In a new venture, the Free Press and WWJ-TV, the Detroit CBS affiliate, will partner to produce news segments during the station's "First Forecast Mornings" segment beginning in May. With the station providing traffic and weather updates, the Free Press reports it will provide news headlines and other material between 5 a.m. and 7 a.m. Beyond headlines, the segments will feature exclusive Free Press stories across a range of topics.

Nancy Andrews, Free Press managing editor of digital media, called the TV segments "the next logical step forward" as the paper creates ways to reach its audience. "The potential is just enormous," she said. "It's our commitment to be on all platforms with our news and information so that people can get Free Press content a variety of ways. And now coming into your living room on your TV set is one of them."
