ZGS Communications announced the launch of WZTD-LP Richmond, VA as a Telemundo affiliate, the first local Spanish-language television broadcast station in the market. ZGS is the largest independent owner and operator of television stations affiliated with the Telemundo network, and the addition of WZTD will increase the number of stations it operates to 13, further expanding its presence in the Mid-Atlantic region.

Nicole Quiroga is the Station Manager and Carolina Rinck is the Director of Sales and Marketing.

"We are delighted to bring Telemundo to Richmond. It is a vibrant market with a diverse and rapidly growing Hispanic population. We look forward to getting involved at the local level, and are committed to serving our viewership," said Quiroga.

WZTD noted that it will become the first station in history to broadcast the Inauguration of Virginia's Governor live from the State Capitol in Spanish on January 16, 2010.

WZTD Telemundo Richmond is available over-the-air on channel 45, Comcast 71 and soon on Verizon FiOs.

ZGS Communications is a Hispanic-owned media company, headquartered in Arlington, Virginia. Its stations are located in Boston, El Paso, Fresno, Ft. Myers-Naples, Hartford, Orlando, Philadelphia, Providence, Richmond, San Antonio, Springfield, MA, Tampa, and Washington, DC. In addition, ZGS owns three Spanish-language radio stations serving Washington, DC and Tampa, and a Spanish-language web portal holaciudad.com.
