You’ve heard the “Ken and Barbie” quips about some TV news anchors for years, but now Mattel has officially come out with a “News Anchor Barbie.” It is one of two new careers for the iconic doll selected by public vote.

More than a half million votes were cast. The top vote getter was “Computer Engineer Barbie.” However, that included votes from adults. The top choice by girls was the news anchor.

The 125th and 126th careers for Barbie were revealed Friday as the American International Toy Fair kicked off in New York. Both dolls will hit stores in Fall 2010, but are already available for presale on the Mattel website.

News Anchor Barbie comes in a pink suit with black accents, news folder, camera and a mic with the “B News” logo.
