Iger keeping ABC options open
To read some of the headlines, you’d think that Disney CEO Bob Iger had announced plans to get rid of the ABC Television Network. In fact, what he said in answer to a question at Disney’s annual shareholder meeting on Wednesday was nothing of the sort.
“There are no guarantees in terms of what will remain part of our company and what will not," Iger said when asked whether ABC Television might be spun-off someday.
That’s the sort of thing that all responsible CEOs say when asked about possible acquisitions or divestitures. Never say never, because then you’re open to a lawsuit down the road.
