Jim Tellus dead at 47
WTHR-TV (NBC) Indianapolis reports the sudden death of President and General Manager Jim Tellus at age 47. He died Monday night while attending a business meeting in Ohio.
Tellus had been News Director of WTHR from December 2006 until he was promoted to President/GM of the Dispatch Broadcast Group station in February 2009. He had previously worked at KOMO-TV Seattle, WVEC-TV Norfolk, VA, and KSNW-TV Wichita, KS.
According to a comment from Dispatch CEO Michael Fiorile in the obituary posted by WTHR, Tellus was once a standup comic, “so Jim could bring smiles and laughter to a room of two or 200 people.”
The funeral for Tellus will be Friday in Carmel, IN.
