Shakeup at Univision ad sales
Univision Communications announced David Lawenda has joined on as President of Advertising Sales. Lawenda, 40, will oversee ad sales for Univision, TeleFutura and Galavision networks; the Univision and TeleFutura TV Groups; Univision Radio; and Univision Online. A top priority for Lawenda will be to help brands connect with Hispanic consumers by developing customized integrated marketing programs across Univision's portfolio.
He'll be based in NYC and report to Joe Uva, Univision CEO. He was most recently SVP of MTV Networks, responsible for ad sales for VH1, VH1 Classic, VH1 Soul, Logo and The N. Separately, Univision announced that Dennis McCauley and Tom McGarrity, Co-Presidents of Ad Sales for the Univision Networks, have decided to resign, effective 9/30. Both will remain as consultants to Univision for a transitional period.
Judy Kenny, EVP/Sales for the Univision Network, will continue to oversee sales for the Univision Network; Carlos Deschapelles, SVP/Sales for the TeleFutura Network, will continue to oversee sales for the TeleFutura Network; and David Grossman, VP/Sales for the Galavision Network, will continue to oversee sales there, all reporting to Lawenda.
