New digital multicast service LATV Networks enjoyed the support of Post-Newsweek as an early affiliate for the bilingual Hispanic music and entertainment channel. P-N contracted for the service on four of its six television stations. Now it has gone a step further, acquiring a minority ownership interest in the program service. It's ponied up an unspecified amount toward the first round of financing in return for a minority stake in the enterprise. It is running LATV Networks on KPRC-TV Houston, WPLG-TV Miami, WKMG-TV Orlando and KSAT-TV San Antonio. Citing the company's success with it, P-N's Alan Frank said, "We believe in its format and its people so strongly that we decided to invest in its national rollout."
