Ion Media Networks announced it has signed commitments from over 40 new advertisers secured through Ion Television's first upfront advertising season since the network's re-branding. Earlier this year, Ion announced its return to the general network advertising marketplace and held an upfront presentation to unveil its programming strategy for the 2007-08 season. The ad commitments coincide with a new sales agreement between Ion and GroupM, the media buying arm of WPP, involving nine new clients, including Campbell's, GlaxoSmithKline, Macy's, Colgate, Kimberly Clark and Mattel.
