Advertisers may have shied away, but CBS is happy with the audience turnout for the premiere of "Kid Nation." The show placed first in its 8:00-9:00 pm time in adults 18-49, children 2-11 and children 6-11, according to preliminary Nielsen Live Plus same-day ratings for Wednesday.

Kid Nation finished first in adults 18-49 (3.1/09), children 2-11 (1.9/08) and children 6-11 (2.3/09) while placing second (to NBC's "Deal or No Deal") in households (6.0/10), viewers (9.38m), adults 25-54 (3.4/09), adults 18-34 (2.5/08) and teens 12-17 (2.3/09). This is CBS's best time period delivery in teens rating since 2/8/06 (The "Grammy Awards"), the network proudly noted.

"CBS Research estimates that when Nielsen tallies all DVR playback, across-the-board ratings should increase by +5%," the ratings announcement declared.
