PBS making debate footage available
All eight announced Democratic presidential candidates are appearing at the "All-American Presidential Forum" on PBS tonight, in a debate with a minority slant. PBS is billing it as "the first time that a panel exclusively comprised of journalists of color" will convene in primetime. News organizations are being offered the opportunity to use up to two minutes of clips from the event in return for sourcing credit only.
The event will feature questioning from NPR's Michel Martin, columnist Roben Navarette Jr., and USA Today/Gannett's DeWayne Wickham, and will be moderated by Tavis Smalley. Joe Biden, Hillary Clinton, Chris Dodd, John Edwards, Mike Gravel, Dennis Kucinich, Barack Obama and Bill Richardson will be subject to the grilling, which is expected to focus on domestic issues. PBS will hold a similar debate for Republican candidates 9/27/07.
