Hospitals need white space

It may be amusing when a remote-control cymbal-playing mechanical monkey starts playing without warning due to a transmission from a nearby unlicensed spectrum device utilizing the white space between television channels. But not if the monkey is in a hospital room and blocks transmission of critical medical data. Devices which monitor heart rate, blood pressure and respiration are a vital part of the system at modern hospitals, but they could all be put at risk. The medical community joins broadcasters, sports organizations and live concert venues in objecting to intrusion by unlicensed devices until such time as they are demonstrated to be foolproof when it comes to causing harmful interference.
