Minisodes to keep “Rescue Me” top of mind
“Rescue Me” was a victim of the writers strike, delaying the start of its 5th season on FX until next spring. But, to maintain viewer interest in the series, Sony Pictures Television and FX are going to serve up 10 “minisodes” that will air commercial-free on FX, then be made available on a variety of Internet video sites. The first will air June 24th.
Each of the five-minute minisodes will feature Denis Leary and the rest of the show's ensemble cast in weekly comedic, standalone episodes, and will be available the day following the FX telecast on Crackle.com and via SPT's The Minisode Network on other online and mobile partners.
The minisodes will then also be posted on YouTube, MySpace, AOL Video, Hulu, Tidal TV and Joost. For mobile viewing, they’ll be available exclusively on Sprint TV.
