The CW counter-programs election night

While news coverage of the election is expected to draw heavy viewer interest across numerous broadcast and cable network, The CW claims it will be the only broadcast network airing regular programming on election night, Tuesday, November 4th. There will, however, be some breaks for election updates.

The CW will air original episodes of freshman series “90210” and “Privileged.” To ensure that viewers can watch the shows without missing election results, both “90210” and “Privileged” will deliver shortened episodes, giving stations time to air two local election updates per hour.  The CW says 90% of its affiliates will be participating with the cut-in opportunities.

With the addition of “90210,” which made its debut as the network’s highest-rated series premiere ever, and new series “Privileged,” The CW’s Tuesdays have dramatically improved over a year ago, with gains of 45% in women 18-34 and 18% in adults 18-34.
