TVB touts 99% sweep for broadcast TV

Now that the 2006-2007 television season has wrapped up, the Television Bureau of Advertising (TVB) has crunched the numbers from Nielsen Media Research and declared that cable/satellite networks had precisely one of the top 100 TV shows of the season. That was a program which had moved from broadcast TV to cable, "Monday Night Football" on ESPN. It was the only cable/satellite show to crack the top 100 in Households, 18-49 or 25-54. "These findings demonstrate once again that broadcast dominates the television landscape. The top-rated cable programs have ratings so small that they would be cancelled if they were on a broadcast outlet," said TVB President Chris Rohrs.
