Dick Clark still rocks
ABC reports that its 36th annual broadcast of “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve” attracted an average audience of 18.05 million Total Viewers and 8.20 million Adults 18-49. Clark’s New Year’s Eve special outdelivered the combined audiences of NBC’s “New Year’s Eve with Carson Daly” and Fox’s “New Year’s Eve - Times Square ‘07” by 29% in Total Viewers and by 20% among Adults 18-49.
With Miley Cyrus and the Jonas Brothers among the performers, ABC noted that Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve posted a 29% increase year-to-year among Teens 12-17, representing the special’s second highest performance since 2002.
Despite the late time period, the second segment of the show, “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve – Part 2,” attracted 4.43 million Total Viewers on average and 2.36 million Adults 18-49.
