Chuck hits a high note for NBC Friday time slot

At 8 p.m. ET, “Chuck” (1.2/4 in 18-49, 4.1 million viewers overall) captured NBC's highest 18-49 and total-viewer results in the Friday 8-9 p.m. ET hour, excluding sports, since April 8, 2011 (season finale of "Who Do You Think You Are?").  "Chuck" is up versus its result in this time period one week ago by 9 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 1.2 from a 1.1) and 8 percent in total viewers (4.124 million vs. 3.824 million).  Versus two weeks ago, last night's 8 p.m. "Chuck" is up by 33 percent in 18-49 rating (1.2 vs. 0.9) and 30 percent in total viewers (4.124 million vs. 3.167 million). 

At 9 p.m. ET, the series finale of “Chuck” (1.3/4 in 18-49, 4.3 million viewers overall) scored season highs for the show in 18-49 and total viewers.  In the time period, "Chuck" ranked #2 among ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox and CW in adults 18-49 and adults 25-54 and is #1 in men 25-54.  Keep in mind that on average this season, "Chuck" originals have been adding 40 percent to their next-day "live plus same day" 18-49 rating when Nielsen reports additional time-shifted viewing in "live plus seven day" ratings.

At 10 p.m. ET, "Dateline NBC" averaged a 1.1/3 in 18-49 and 4.5 million viewers overall.  "Dateline" grew from its first half-hour to its second by 9 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 1.2 from a 1.1) and by 14 percent in total viewers (4.8 million vs. 4.2 million).

In late-night metered-market households Friday night:

In Nielsen's 56 metered markets, household results were: "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," 2.8/7 with an encore telecast; CBS's "Late Show with David Letterman," 2.4/6 with an encore; and ABC's combo of "Nightline," 3.3/7; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 1.6/4. 

In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,” 0.9/4 with an encore; "Late Show," 0.5/2 with an encore; "Nightline," 1.0/4; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.5/3
At 12:35 a.m., "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" (1.6/5 in metered-market households with an encore) tied CBS's "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" (1.2/4 with an encore).  In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.6/3 in 18-49 with an encore) topped "Late Late Show" (0.3/2 with an encore).

At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.9/3 with an encore in metered-market households and a 0.4/3 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.
