The battle; 'Monterrey vs. Chivas' Mexican League soccer, vote who’ll win
The battle between Monterrey's Rayados and Chivas of Guadalajara marks one of the most anticipated matches of the competition, as the top two teams of the Bicentennial Clausura 2010 face off at the Estadio Tecnologico in Monterrey, Mexico. Both teams are serious candidates to star in the upcoming final, but before thinking about the playoffs, Monterrey (23 points) and Guadalajara (25 points) will go head to head in the Tecnologico to decide who deserves the top spot in the standings, "el superliderato."
La Pandilla (Monterrey) is riding a streak of 10 undefeated home games in the league, and eight in this tournament. They are second in the general standings and the leader of Group 2. Monterrey is the best offense in the tournament with 21 goals in 10 games and the third-best defense with just nine goals allowed. Los Rayados have the best home record in the tournament and are currently on a five-game winning streak.
El Reba?o remains on top of the overall standings due to their eight consecutive victories in their first 8 matches. Chivas boasts the best performance for a team in 2010, with 25 points in 10 games, the product of eight wins and one draw, and only one defeat.
This also marks a significant match for the two goal scorers who are fighting for a spot in Mexico's national team, Aldo de Nigris (Monterrey) and Javier "El Chicharito" Hernandez (Chivas), who will face off in this crucial game.
