Jason Elkin’s New Vision Television is adding to its portfolio in Kansas, where it already has a state-wide network of NBC outlets. It now has a deal to acquire KTMJ-TV, the Fox affiliate in Topeka, from Montgomery Communications. It brings the group up to 17 owned or managed stations, including NBC KTMJ-TV and its armada of satellites. Elkin promises we’ll be reading about his group in this space in the future, saying, “We will continue to grow through strategic acquisitions that will balance our network and geographic diversity.” The group’s larger markets include Portland OR, Honolulu HI and Birmingham AL, and its network diversity program is already in place, with five CBS affiliates, four Fox, and two each with ABC, NBC, CW and MNT.
