VP debate beats top of the ticket

The Nielsen Company calculates, based on overnight data from 55 local meter markets, that last night’s debate between vice presidential candidates Joe Biden (D-DE) and Sarah Palin (R-AK) scored an overall 45 rating. That was much higher than the first McCain-Obama debate, which had a 31.6 rating. The VP debate rating was highest in Baltimore, 59.1, and lowest in Los Angeles, 34.4.
