Changing chiefs in San Fran

Young Broadcasting has named Mark Antonitis as President and General Manager of KRON-TV (Ch. 4, Ind.) San Francisco, effective immediately. Antonitis, formerly Pres./GM of Young's KELO-TV (Ch. 11, CBS) Sioux Falls, SD, succeeds Dino Dinovitz, who had announced plans to retire at the end of this year. He'll continue to work at KRON through the end of the year to ease the transition.

McGrath gets her MTV

Judy McGrath has moved up from President of MTV Networks Group to Chairman & CEO of MTV Networks, the office previously occupied by Viacom Co-President and Co-COO Tom Freston. That means McGrath is not only in charge of MTV, MTV2, VH1, CMT, Comedy Central and the launch of LOGO, but also the rest of Viacom's cable networks - - Nickelodeon, Nick at Nite, Spike TV, TV Land, Noggin, the N, MTV Networks Digital Suite and MTV Networks International.

Having been passed over for promotion, Viacom announced that MTV Networks President and COO Mark Rosenthal has decided to resign.

Howe upped at SciFi

Dave Howe, who had been SciFi Channel's head of marketing, has been elevated to Executive Vice President and General Manager. He'll report to Bonnie Hammer, who was put over both SciFi and USA Network as the merger creating NBC Universal was completed (5/13/04 TVBR Daily Epaper #94).

Williams joins GMC

Gospel Music Channel has named Jerry Williams as its Director of Programming, Scheduling and Acquisitions. Williams makes the jump to cable from a long career in radio programming.
