Broadcasters' foundation honoring Norman Knight

Knight Quality Stations founder Norman Knight will be honored with the Chairman's Award September 14th at the Broadcasters' Foundation Board of Directors Dinner in Rye, NY. " While Norman Knight's contributions to radio and television are legendary he is receiving the Broadcasters' Foundation Chairman's award for his incredible commitment and benefactions on behalf of our mission of helping fellow broadcasters who are in acute need. Norman has been a guiding force in the development of the Broadcasters' Foundation since the mid 1990s," said foundation Chairman Phil Lombardo, CEO of Citadel Communications.

New officers for BCFM

Broadcast Cable Financial Management Association (BCFM) and its Broadcast Cable Credit Association (BCCA) subsidiary announced the election of the following officers for the coming year:

Chairman: Joe Barlek, Senior Vice-President/Controller of Susquehanna Radio Corp

Vice Chairman and Chair of the 2005 Conference: Leslie Hartmann, Vice President, Finance/Controller, Radio One, Inc.

Secretary: Ed Deichman, Senior Vice President & Controller, Media General Broadcast Group

Treasurer: Tony Vasconcellos, Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Regent Communications

The organization also announced that the following members are beginning three-year terms on its Board of Directors:

Chris Baldwin, Vice President, Taxes, Gannett Co. Inc.

Walter Berger, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, Emmis Communications

James Clayton, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, Scripps Networks

Mark Corcoran, Controller and Chief Accounting Officer, The Outdoor Channel

Laura James, Vice President, Finance, Jefferson-Pilot Communications

Evan Maltese, AABS, Senior Manager, Ernst & Young LLP

Pam D'Elia, Director-Credit/Collections for Cox Broadcasting Representatives Group, will represent BCCA on the BCFM Board.
