ZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzz. Is it still August? Still ain't much goin' on in the station trading world. Take out the one big-market TV deal and the total for the week would just barely top 6M dollars. And even the TV deal, in Philadelphia, was good for only 7M in currency - - the rest was covered in a debt assumption agreement. Now let me get back to sleep...

Brunson burner? Philly TV goes into a Crouch
Philadelphia's Channel 48 offering, WGTW-TV, is going to a California-based Religious non-com operation headed by Paul Crouch. In fact, Crouch's Trinity Christian Center of Santa Ana is paying $1M per channel number - $48M - - to get the station, easily making it the TV Deal of the Week. Seller is Brunson Communications Inc.

Mercatanti on the hunt in Vermont
A pair of Vermont FMs are going to Louis Mercatanti's Nassau Broadcasting, part of the group's ongoing expansion in the outer reaches of New England. The stations, WEXP-FM Brandon VT and WVAY-FM Wilmington VT, are coming from Vox. Despite being beyond the boundaries of Arbitron, the deal is good enough, during a slow week, for Radio Deal of the Week honors.
