There’ll be no loss of Despierta América, world-class soccer, or any prime-time telenovelas for Frontier Communications subscribers.

That’s thanks to a new retransmission fee agreement signed Friday (12/8) by the MVPD and Univision Communications.

The renewal means there will be no loss of coverage for all of the company’s broadcast and cable networks, which are comprised of the Univision Network, UniMás, Galavisión, Univision Deportes Network, El Rey Network, FOROtv, TLNovelas, Telehit, Bandamax, De Pelicula and De Pelicula Clasico.

Commenting on the deal, EVP/Content Distribution at Univision Eric Ratchman said his company “greatly appreciates” the opportunity to extend its partnership with Frontier. “The company has long understood the value of the Hispanic viewer and the importance of providing content that attracts and retains customers in the key markets they serve in states ranging from California and Texas to Florida,” he said.

Steve Ward, SVP/Video Technology and Content at Frontier, added, “We are pleased to have reached an agreement with Univision Communications to continue to include their portfolio of programming in the wide variety of Spanish-language entertainment options we offer our customers.”
