Newport Television-owned stations in Syracuse, Harrisburg, and Albany have been restored (1/15) to local Verizon FiOS systems after the two companies reached a new retransmission deal. After the 1/13 midnight deadline, FiOS customers were unable to see Newport’s WSYR (ABC) in Syracuse, NY; WXXA (FOX) in Albany, NY and WHP (CBS) in Harrisburg, PA.
They were able to reach an agreement at 3:40 p.m. Sunday, which put the stations back up on Verizon shortly thereafter.
