FCC Commissioner Mignon Clyburn will be one of the leading guests as communications watchdog Free Press takes on issues facing journalism, the internet and public media. The group has booked The Newseum in Washington DC for an all-day session called “Free Press Summit: Ideas to Action.”

The session will be held Tuesday 5/11/10, and will run from 10AM-5PM.

Free Press says it will bring “policymakers, academics, community leaders, journalists and innovators under one roof.”

In addition to Free Press luminary Josh Silver, the session will feature BBC’s John Tate, journalists Farai Chideya and Jose Antonio Vargas, and Jehmu Greene of the Women’s Media Center.
