WGN-AM 720Tribune’s WGN-AM Chicago announced a multi-year contract with sports host and reporter, David Kaplan. An 18-year WGN Radio vet, Kaplan will continue hosting his self-titled show in a new timeslot from 7-10p.m. beginning Monday, 1/6. The “David Kaplan Show” focuses on the Chicago and national sports landscape and capitalizes on Kaplan’s connections to book high-profile guests. He’s also the afternoon drive sports reporter and host of various shows including Cubs and Blackhawks Confidential.

“It’s a thrill to continue my career at WGN Radio where I have spent the last 18+ years.  I’m thankful to work for the best mind in radio, Jimmy de Castro, and I’m blessed to be able to talk sports in my hometown of Chicago on the best radio station in America.”

WGN Radio Sports Director Dave Eanet said, “We’re delighted that Kap will be part of WGN Radio for years to come.  He’s been a valuable part of our sports programming for almost two decades.  As a friend and colleague, it’s great to have him staying on the team at WGN Radio.”

“We are driven to deliver live and local programming to our listeners,” said President and GM, Jimmy de Castro.  “Kap has his finger on the pulse of Chicago sports and we’re excited for him to be a part of our multidimensional future.”
