Merlin Media’s WIQI-FM (101.1 FM MHz, Chicago – i101) announced the hiring of Brian Phillips for on-air duties effective 1/7. He arrives from New York City where he was most recently Head of Promotion & Artist Development at Megaforce Records. In addition to that, he was on-air at WRXP (101.9 FM MHz, New York – New Rock 101.9). Merlin tells RBR-TVBR Phillips’ air shift is “undetermined at this point. Still have more staff to hire.”
“Brian’s style is fun, relatable and easy to listen to,” said Operations Manager Jim Richards. “I’d heard great things about him and hired him for WRXP and I’m glad we were able to bring him to Chicago.”
