XAPPmedia, provider of the first interactive audio advertising service, announced the addition of Paul Burden as senior vice president of sales and advertiser relations to its executive team. A former Microsoft executive that led federal sales for the technology giant for over 15 years, Paul will work with advertisers and agencies to solve their challenge of connecting with ultramobile consumers through audio apps.

A technology and sales veteran, Paul recently served as EVP of sales for Online Parking Pass and was founder and CEO of Sky-Fi Studios, a commercial drone service.  While at Microsoft, Paul started the Federal sales team and grew it to 250 people who worked with agencies, systems integrators, and solutions providers to deliver enormous revenue growth across multiple sales channels.

“We are focused on helping audio app publishers better monetize their burgeoning listenership and advertisers drive higher ROI by increasing audio ad response rates.   Since we launched XAPP Ads in April, we have had tremendous inbound interest from advertisers and agencies as well as audio content publishers.  Paul’s successful track record in building and managing multiple sales channels to satisfy rapidly growing demand is already proving an invaluable asset,” said Pat Higbie, CEO and co-founder, XAPPmedia.

Newly appointed XAPPmedia senior vice president Paul Burden commented, “XAPPmedia is combining mobile, voice and cloud technology to support Internet audio advertising at just the right time. Audio content consumption on mobile devices is undergoing an explosive growth phase and advertisers are looking for effective methods to reach this large audience. XAPP Ads’ demonstrated ability to drive much higher conversion rates than existing audio ad formats fits that need. I was immediately impressed by the technology and the quality of the inbound advertiser interest. I look forward to supporting industry adoption of the Voice Click for audio advertising.”
