YankeesGalaxy Communications’ Classic Rocker TK99 (WTKW) is the new radio home for New York Yankees baseball in Syracuse, starting with the 2014 season. The Yankees had previously been on CCME’s WSYR-A/FM there, since 2002.

“We are thrilled to partner with the greatest brand in sports, the New York Yankees,” said Ed Levine, President and CEO of Galaxy Communications. “We intend to go far beyond just broadcasting the games on the radio in Syracuse. We’re going to enhance the experience for Yankee fans in Central New York in a myriad of innovative ways, as we have done in our partnership with Syracuse Athletics.”

“CBS Radio and the New York Yankees are very excited to be partnering with TK99 and Galaxy,” said Mark Chernoff, VP Sports Programming, CBS Radio. “They have shown a great ability through their work with SU Athletics to enhance what is already a strong presence and make it even bigger and better. We look forward to that continuing with the Yankees.”

TK99 is also the flagship for Syracuse University football and basketball and the Buffalo Bills in Syracuse.
