Yankees, WCBS extend through 2013

CBS RadioThe New York Yankees and WCBS 880 agreed to extend their current radio broadcast agreement through the 2013 season. The station will carry all regular and postseason games, as well as broadcast select spring training contests. WCBS 880 has been the team’s flagship station since 2002. In addition, John Sterling and Suzyn Waldman are expected to return to the booth. They have called games together since 2005.

RBR-TVBR observation: Needless to say, sports play-by-play rights are getting more competitive with ESPN Radio’s move of WEPN to FM 98.7 from the Emmis LMA there.
