Proponents of digital FM service, led by iBiquity and including 18 station owners, are asking the FCC to open a proceeding that will lead to upping the power of FM digital channels from the currently-alllowed maximum of 1% of licensed analog power, all the way up to 10%. Meanwhile, National Public Radio says that it’s studied the matter, and allowing such an increase may result in interference to second and third adjacencies. The FCC wants to know what you think. Comments on the proposals and studies, which are available at http://fjallfoss.fcc.gov//prod/ecfs/comsrch_v2.cgi under MM Docket No. 99-325, are due 11/28/08, with reply comments due 1/4/09.
