48 Hours Mystery was #1 on Tuesday

CBSCBS News 48 HOURS MYSTERY TUESDAY (R) was first in households (4.1/07) and viewers (6.02m), while delivering a 1.6/04 in adults 25-54 and 1.1/03 in adults 18-49, according to preliminary Nielsen live plus same day ratings for July 3. Compared to last week, 48 HOURS TUESDAY was up +5% in households (from 3.9/07), +7% in adults 25-54 (from 1.5/04), +10% in adults 18-49 (from 1.0/03) and added +410,000 viewers (from 5.61m, +7%).


This was 48 HOURS MYSTERY TUESDAY’S largest audience this summer, matched best household performance and posted its best deliveries in both adults 25-54 and adults 18-49 since June 5, 2012.

Tuesday’s telecast featured correspondent Richard Schlesinger’s updated report on the murder of Joanne Witt, who was stabbed to death after she tried to put an end to a forbidden romance between her 14-year-old daughter Tylar and 19-year-old Steven Colver. Joanne and Tyler battled over the relationship and after the concerned mother turned to police, Tylar and Steven conspired to kill her.

“A Fatal Attraction” is one of several updated editions of 48 HOURS MYSTERY that will be broadcast Tuesday nights at 10:00 PM this summer in addition to the program’s usual Saturday 10:00 PM telecasts.
