54 win Murrow Awards

Out of 3,459 entries, the Radio-Television News Directors Association (RTNDA) has awarded 77 2008 Edward R. Murrow Awards to 54 news organizations. ABC News won a total of six in network television and CBS Radio five in network radio. At the station level, KGO-AM San Francisco, WBZ-AM Boston and WBAL-TV Baltimore each won two.


The Overall Excellence awards, requiring consistent demonstration of depth and scope in news coverage, went to ABC News in network television, CBS Radio News in network radio, KOMO-TV Seattle in large market television, WJAR-TV Providence in small market television, WBAL-AM Baltimore in large market radio and KFDI-AM & FM Wichita in small market radio.
