By an overwhelming majority of 71 to 23%, registered voters in Florida support the Compact Agreement between the State of Florida and the Seminole Tribe, according to a survey released by Public Opinion Strategies for the Seminole Tribe of Florida. By an even higher margin of 83 to 16%, registered Florida voters believe the Governor, Legislature and Tribe should work together to reach an agreement that allows the Tribe to continue to offer casino gambling. 800 registered Florida voters were surveyed Jan. 25-26.

The Seminole Tribe points to the Compact’s likely creation of 45,000 new jobs and billions of dollars in economic impact. It also provides $288 million to the State of Florida for the 2010 budget year.

The Seminole Tribe also unveiled a new website, at www.jobsforflorida.com, designed to provide more detailed information and urge support of the Compact, so that it will be approved by the Florida Legislature during the upcoming session. The Tribe also took to the airwaves with a television ad that underlines the importance of the Compact and directs viewers to the new site.  The ad also appears on the new website.
